COM+ Compatibility RRS feed

  • I'm having a very weird problem.

I'm working on an appliaction in COM+ VB6.

The 2 dll's initially were compiled with no compatbility.  Looking at the VB6 files in sourcesafe compatibility has been broken twice.  Essentially each dll was compiled back to binary compitbility.

The setup machines are both windows 2000 server.  Each time a release is ready, I update server 2 from dev 1.  Server 2 always throws an automation error code never to be found on google.  Usually more common error codes can be looked up.  The calling function in dll 2 is handled by dll 1 by dll reference.

I initially thought this was a compatibility issue.  I've tried just about everything.  I've walked through the failing calls function and copyed the failing function to a new function.

I register each dll file component using component services.  Can this be a registry problem?

I'm not sure what else to do or where to look.  Hopefully I can get some feedback.
