Forefront client security upgradation problem RRS feed

  • Dear All,

    i m unable to upgrade my forefront client security software. error appears "the program can't check for definition updates error found: code 0x80040154 " kindly assist me

  • First question:

    What version of the client are you using?

    If I had to guess, it would sound like you have a firewall issue.  What ports are blocked between you and the internet?

    Let me know what you have,

  • Try getting updates via Windows and Microsoft Update or WSUS,  I found FCS inbuilt update button always hit an error. Maybe a glitch in the application but once you get patched its all smooth from there. 

    If anyone has a fixed post it along..

  • Hi,

    If your OS is Vista or higher no need to do anything just check windows updates online, Don't try to update from forfront control pannel it will gove u error.
    if you are running XP os & forefront is in standalone mode, than you have install microsoft updater new verion (which is available on the same MS update site)

    Please note - Windows updates will automatic update forfront also,
