Hello everyone,
I'm currently trying to set-up a migration project for 20 000+ users to get rid of the local back-up PST files. The scope is for the e-mails to be moved into Online archive or on-prem database archive. This has to be done prior to our migration to O365.
I just want to clarify a scenario that I want to reproduce:
- Enable Online archive for 20 000+ users
- Notify users that they will have Online Archive enabled at a certain date and time
- Create documentation for users to manually move their PST files in the Online archive (they could just load a PST file with Outlook, then drag and drop the contents into the Online archive
This scenario is flawless in my opinion, as it lets users decide which e-mails they want to keep and discard what they don't need.
Does anyone think that this could be a good solution to get rid of PST files, or just get some 3rd party tool to automatically collect and migrate our PST files into an on-premise archive database or into exchange online?
Kind regards,
Cristi
