"line manager should review" in SCSM 2012 SP1 UR2 RRS feed

  • Question

  • hello

we are using scsm 2012 sp1 UR2, on Server 2012

    and SQL is 2012 standerd

when we create a SR with a review activity and select "Line manager Should Review

then submit  the SR, the Activity stays without a reviewer

means line manger is not working

    any idea ?

  • This is known issue for SM2012 on server 2012 (I had this issue before). Log a call with Microsoft in order to get the hotfix for this issue.
    Check this http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/systemcenter/en-US/83f771bc-b999-4c53-bd3c-8bfbf8f4ad11/systemresourcesmissingmanifestresourceexception-when-review-activity-goes-in-progress

    the hotfix will update C:\Program Files\Microsoft System Center 2012\Service Manager\Microsoft.EnterpriseManagement.ServiceManager.ActivityManagement.Workflows.dll to 7.5.2905.131

  • If you have defined a manager for a user in active directory and that user creates a change request. Ticking-off the checkbox for line manager approval will trigger a built in workflow that locates the users manager and adds that person as a reviewer in review activity.

so you have to check if your AD updated with manager information

  • ad connector is working fine and the user has the correct manager from ad

the manager attribute has the manager name for the user that create the change or service request

but still , the review activity do not get assigned to the manager

  • This should be fixed with UR4 that's coming "soon":

SCSM 2012:SP1: Regression- Simple lists do not function correctly in SSP after upgrading to SP1

    UR 4

Review Activity add reviewer workflow fail to run in SCSM2012 sp1 running in windows Server 2012

    UR 4

Subsequent activities start to run even though the current activity has not finished yet.

    UR 4

After SP1 upgrade, new "Service Dependents" entries created for "Business Services" cannot be seen in the console anymore

    UR 4

RunbookMonitorWorkflow cannot handle failed status of runbook

    UR 4

SCSM2012SP1:File attachments are not getting properly saved

The status of SR becomes "completed" though it's canceled manually
