No audio output device is installed RRS feed

  • Question

  • ok so I just installed a service pack onto my laptop and all of a sudden I have no sound. It says "no audio output device installed". I am not happy about this, i have had nothing but problems using Vista which include having to load the OS discs more than once and these updates are created more and more problems and I this issue needs to be resolved asap because I use this computer for homework and some of that homework includes having to listen to sound bites. What will fix this issue? i have used Microsofts FIX IT thing and tried these how to fit it deals with no success.

    then click on Device manger

in device manager click on sounds, video and game controllers
