  • Next step is to understand the makes/models of machines you have in your environment.

The MDT litetouch WIM can boot on a *majority* of machines without any problems. Try booting your LitetouchPE_x??.wim image via USB Flash Drive. If you still can't load WinPE, you might have corrupt binaries, or an unsupported PC type.

The other avenue to look at is your PXE Server. There are some scenarios where older Windows Server machines (WIndows Server 2008 R2 and earlier) might not load the correct bootstrap binaries when importing the LitetouchPE_x??.wim files. Try loading on a clean WIndows Server 2012 R2 box to see if the images work there.

  • Which "loading screen"? Are you talking about the WinPE Loader, or the full OS Loader?

What version of the WAIK/ADK are you using?

Does this happen on all machines or just a few (AMD processor machines?)? BIOS or uEFI?

  • @Keith:
Why are you always proposing your 'further questions' as answers? That's not adequate in any way!
Especially as a 'Moderator' you should know better, I really dislike this and I am quite sure that I am not on my own with this opinion.

It is pretty obvious from the post that this happens while loading WinPE, what is there to misinterpret?

Are you using different WDS servers for your sites?
If yes, try to remove the boot image from the 'Broken' one and re-import it.
Comparing checksums is never a bad idea in such a scenario.

  • Asking clarifying questions is perfectly acceptable for forum posts.

As for unanswered posts, I like many people, search through the forums for "unanswered" questions, and fill out these posts first. Keeping posts out of the "unanswered" helps move things along. See #1 and #3. I also find that users with very low point totals can forget to mark threads as answered, so it's difficult to know when things have been resolved.

I'm sure that if Abubelal returns to clarify his questions, he is more than welcome to mark my "proposal" as unanswered. Either way I will work to answer his question when he returns.

  • If you are having problems with *all* machines (and different *types* of machines), that would suggest to me that this is a problem with the image, can you perfrom a full update of the MDT deployment share, and try again, if necessary, try mounting the litetouchPE_x??.iso image into a Hyper-V virtual machine to see if it can boot up.

  • I updated the deployment share and still the same problem. I even create a new deployment share and create new WIM image and still the same problem
