is it possible to setup a public calendar in a domain secured Sharepoint?

Our Sharepoint 2007 is configured to authenticate users using AD accounts. I got a request to setup a Calendar that public can read but not change and setup this in our secured Sharepoint site. I mean, this doesn't make sense to me but I thought I would check.
Is it possible to crate just a calendar in our Sharepoint? Is it possible to let public view this calendar without logging in? Thanks.

Hi,

This can be done.

Follow these steps:

1. Go to your list calendar settings.

2. Go to permissions.

3. Break the permissions from parent site.

4. Now select anonymous access.
