Video playback freezing/locking up while playing files from PC DRIVE but NOT while playing FROM EXTERNAL DRIVE! RRS feed

  • Question

  • Genius please help me to fix my video playback issue.

Machine: 3 year old HP PAVILION g6 1050ex, came with WIN 7 Home Premium(occasionally there was problem), Now I changed to WIN 7 Ultimate SP1(Now problem Regularly).

    System: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2410M CPU @ 2.30GHz, 4GB RAM with 64 bit OS.

Graphics: Intel(R) HD Graphics Family, (AMD) Radeon (TM) HD 6470M, ATI Adapter.

    PROBLEM:
    1. While playing Video files (both HD & low quality) from MY PC it STOPS for few seconds or minutes and resumes playback sometime normally, sometime like fast

forwarding sometime very slow. Repeats the same after few minutes. Normally I am using GOM or KMP players but I tried VLC, Windows MP, K-lite classic MP(low quality

playback but reduces the problem little bit) same problem with all players.
    2. All streaming(watching Online cricket & football) and YouTube videos are playing very smoothly(even 1080p HD).
    3. Compuetr LOCKING UP/freezing: Ocassionally While running some other programs or opening files.

    System Status while playback:
    CPU: 14 to 20%
    RAM: 40%

    Solutions Tried:
    1. Installed 'K-lite Codec Full pack' and 'Shark', still same problem.
    2. Ran Command prompt and SFC/SCANNOW. not fixed the problem.
    3. Boot into SAFE MODE, still same problem.
    4. Checked EVENT VIEWER, error not listed.
    5. All Drivers are UPDATED, (Checked through Device Manager).
    6. Windows updated.
    7. Unwanted applications running in background are all stopped through 'MSCONFIG'.

    PROBLEM FIXED, Temporarily.
    1. BY PLAYING THE SAME FILE FROM EXTERNAL DRIVE. (SAME FILES FROM MY PC ARE COPIED TO EXTERNAL HARD DISC (EVEN USB) AND PLAYED BY KMP & GOM PLAYER WITH WINDOWS NORMAL

MODE, K-LITE & SHARK WAS UNINSTALLED, SMOOTH PLAYBACK, NO PROBLEM)

Add info.: INTERNAL(PC)HARD DISC (500GB) TOSHIBA, & EXTERNAL HARD DISC (1000GB) TOSHIBA.

    Hard Drive Test Conducted:
    1. Right click 'MY COMPUTER' 'Properties' 'Tools' 'Check now' reboot & 'Defragment now'. The Problem not fixed.
    2. Ran Command prompt and 'CHKDSK/C' & 'CHKDSK/F'. The Problem not fixed.
    3. Installed HP System Diagnostic UEFI & tried each HARDWARE test like Run-in-test, Hard Drive test.......... all test are PASSED, but the Problem not fixed.

(My) Conclusion: By Considering these 3 successful Hard Drive tests no meaning of changing the Hard drive right? But I don't know is there any other tests for hard

drive or not. (normal hard drive sound while system running & larger files (PDF & MS Office) are opening very fast (selecting many files & open together).
I took this as CHALLENGE. Any solution genius? Thanks in advance.
