Can't open CRAN R after uninstalling Microsoft R Open RRS feed

  • Question

  • I installed Microsoft open R on my Debian virtual machine (running on Win 10) but it kept aborting on startup, so I uninstalled my previous  CRAN R installation... and the same problem.

Now I want to go back to CRAN R after uninstalling Microsoft R (sudo apt remove microsoft-r-open-*) which I've reinstalled on apt, but my system can't find an R installation anywhere. I noticed the size apt gave me for r-base and r-base-dev were much smaller than I remembered, how could it not be installing properly? Did the microsoft distro mess with my sources/repos? (nothing weird in /etc/apt/sources.list though). Why is R not working/installing after microsoft R uninstall??

  • Unfortunately, Debian is a unsupported OS for Microsoft R Open.

    See:

    https://mran.microsoft.com/documents/rro/installation

for a list of supported platforms.
