Unable to access the network drive RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hii everyone hope you all are good,

as subjected I'm unable to access the network drive and the error is:

An error occurred while reconnecting Y: to \\server\share

Microsoft Windows Network : The network path was not found.

This connection has not been restored.

every thing was going good a week ago but this error is taking my life....

Solution i tried to get rid of that error:

    1. disabled the firewall

    2. Check the network discovery service that was already on

    3. i have the backup of my server created in windows server backup i restored the system state to earlier date still I'm unable to do the desired.

    4. on user (user is using windows xp) end everything is good i mean network discover service and firewall is off.

    5. even i changed the computer name. i thought maybe its stuck in servers cache n all that....

note: i can ping from both server and host.

    my ipconfig /all log is:

  • Hii Gouwen Su

firstly thanks for the reply, the pc on which im trying to access the network drive is in same workgroup and there is no privilege issue, whenever i try to access the drive that message appears

An error occurred while reconnecting Y: to \\server\share

Microsoft Windows Network : The network path was not found.

This connection has not been restored.

but after all my efforts now im able to connect the drive via ip like \\192.168.1.4\share

its a DNS problem i thinks but still donn know how to fix it :(
