What is the fatal error at the bottom of the log?

Also check if the following method could work:

Open IIS console, delete the WSUS site, then try post installation task again.

    Best Regards,

    Anne

  • Hi,

You could try to Admin elevate a PowerShell or CMD and change dir to C:\Program Files(x86)\WSUS-Install-Dir (i think its "Windows Update".
Then run the "wsusutil /reset" witch will reset the WSUS setup, and then run the PostInstall again.

If your planing to use SQL insted of WID i would recommend to run "wsusutil /Export", "wsusutil /reset" - shutdown the WID service and then "wsusutil /import".

Or uninstall the WSUS setup after doing a "wsusutil /Export" and after a reinstall without the WID then doing a "wsusutil /import"

Let us know how it turns out :-)

  • Hi,

Deleting the site worked for me.  Post installation task ran without issue after that.

    Thanks,

    Steve
