Error In Displaying DataSheet Views in Custom Lists RRS feed

  • Question

Hi. We've encountered some problems in our custom lists in our SharePoint site. Some of our users get this error message while trying to edit the lists in Datasheet View:

The list is displayed in Standard view. It cannot be displayed in Datasheet view for one or more of the following reasons: A datasheet component compatible with Windows SharePoint Services is not installed, your browser does not support ActiveX controls, or support for ActiveX controls is disabled.

They never encountered such problems previously. Some were able to address the issue by adding the site to their list of trusted sites. But some still encounter the same problem. I was thinking that an automatic update may have caused this, since it was working fone last week. Can anyone confirm this? Also does anyone know a workaroud for those encountering this problem? I haven't encountered this problem in my PC.

    Thanks.
