Chrome, Firefox, Sticky notes, Microsoft word 2007 and almost everything except pictures is showing the question,"Do u want to open or save file?" when clicked and all these things are represented by an internet explorer icon

  • I think something i installed had virus. Chrome, Explorer, Firefox, Microsoft word 2007, Memo and everything except pictures is not opening. Instead a file opens saying,"Do you want to open and save file?" Clicking everything does not work. everything except pictures is shown by a internet explorer sign. I have another account on this computer but it works fine. I searched this on bing on Hp dock. Please help.

    We quite understand your issue. We would like to suggest you could follow the steps below to fix it.

    1. Start the Windows in clean boot mode due to we consider if any 3rd party software block it.

    If it works fine in clean boot mode, you can determine which one can be the cause by using dichotomy in MSconfig. Checking on half of Non-Microsoft service and restart, determining which half of the services cause the issue and repeating to check half of the problematic half services.

    2. If it does not help, we would like to suggest you fix the user profile due to it works fine in another user acocunt. We consider the profile may corrupted by unknown reasons, maybe it is the virus damaged it. Please scan for virus first and then refer the link below to fix user profile.

  • YOu can use a 3rd party malware tool to fix this up or create a new user profile.
