DO I need WDK? RRS feed

  • Question

  • If this has been answered already, please point me to the relevant post.

I have SCCM 2012, I want to install Windows 7 8 and 10 images using it. I also want UDI!

I know I need MDT 2013 that can help in getting boot images and a UDI designer.

Meat of the question is "do I need WAIK/WDK?"

    Regards,

  • Hi

You need the ADK it is a prereq for installing SCCM 2012.

You do not need the WDK. It is the Windows Driver Kit.

And the WAIK is from Windows 7 - in Windows 8 is it replaced by ADK.

I use ADK 1511 and MDT 2013 Update 2 when I deploying Windows 10.  And I am usin UDI to deploy Windows 10.

See this for issue with ADK https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/configmgrteam/2015/11/20/issue-with-the-windows-adk-for-windows-10-version-1511/
