Error installing IE 11 0x800f081e RRS feed

  • I have tried installing IE 11 with the regular download at:

    http://www.microsoft.com/en-hk/download/Internet-Explorer-11-for-Windows-7-details.aspx

    32bit

    I have tried installing IE11 with the full off line version.

    Before installing either of these version I have applied all Win7 32bit MS security updates.

    As I have done deep analysis on your problem I found that the prerequisite component that  must be installed on your system to carry out successful IE11 Installation are missing. Generally when you installed IE11 for window 7, system automatically install some prerequisite component. But sometimes installer program fail to do so. Resulting in  exit code 0x800f081e. Follow this Microsoft Support Link to get installed all of Prerequisites Updates:

  • You are great.

    Two of the prerequisites listed on the page needed to be installed on my system.  After I installed them and re-booted IE11 installed without a problem.

    I have been working on this all day.  Thank you very much for the correct answer.
