Error 214 Insufficient Storage Space RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I am getting an error 214 Insufficient Storage Space in the recovery point. I have manually extended it by 2GB and yet it still won't create a recovery point. I thought Data Protection Manager 2010 was meant to auto grow when required and this protection group is set to do that.

The drive being backed up only hold 6GB of data. What can I do to rectify this?

    Best wishes

    Michael

  • Hi Michel!

First of, when you create a protection group you'll get the option on the "disk window" during the Wizard. You can enable that afterward aslo by modifting the protection group and choose to modify the diskallocation. In the windows that will appear you wil have a checkbox for you to check that says "Automatically grow the volumes".

Checking this will enable the DPM server to grow the volumes as the needs apply.

So you must choose to enable the autogrow funtion during the set-up of the protectino group or afterwards by modifying the diskallocation.

  • Hi Robert,

All my protection groups are set to auto grow. A reboot fixed the server.

    Cheers
