Removed Admin Account by mistake RRS feed

  • Question

  • Dear Folks

I am the one of the Administrator for Project Server 2010 and we shared common username and password with other members those who have admin rights. Unfortunately some one removed admin account from Manage users. When i try to access PWA 2010 getting "Access Denied" message

Is there any way to create admin account from Database side or Power shell commands

    Kindly assist me

    Regards

  • Hi Santosh,

You can use the following powershell command to add admin user to Project SErver 2010:

    New-SPProjectSiteAdministrator -AdminAccount <String> -Url <String> [-AssignmentCollection <SPAssignmentCollection>]

for more details of above powershell command, please refer to the following technet guide:

    hope this helps.

  • Hi,

Is this user exist in PWA? The user which you are tyring to add to the admin group?

because error show that there is access denied.

try the following stsadm command to add user to the PWA and assign ti to the group:

    stsadm -o adduser

       -url <URL name>

       -userlogin <login name>

       -useremail

       -role <role name> / -group <group name>

       -username

       [-siteadmin]

    TechNet Reference: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc262627(v=office.12).aspx

see if this works for you.

Also in case you afford, use 5 DB migration and provision new PWA and this will add the current user to Admin group.

    hope this helps.
