Win10 PC's stuck on 1607 update RRS feed

    Hello,

    We are using WSUS on a Windows 2012R2 server and I'm trying to update some windows 10 PCs, but they are getting stuck download the 1607 anniversary update.  They stall at 0% download.

    Do I need to install a different update first?

    Oh, yes, half of internet is full with this.

    You have to install this KBs:

    WSUS 4.0 (RTM):    Build 6.3.9600.16384
    WSUS 4.0 + KB3095113
    Support for W10, no Upgrades: Build 6.3.9600.18228

    WSUS 4.0 + KB3159706 (Manual Steps!)
    Support for W10 incl. Upgrades: Build 6.3.9600.18324

    But before, you have to clean up Upgrades:

    1. On the WSUS server, please ensure you have installed KB3095113 and KB3159706(with manual steps);

    2. Please ensure win10 1607 upgrade is synced and approved after installing the above KBs, if not, please redownload it;

    3. Please check .esd MiME type is added to IIS manager WSUS site, if not, please add it:

    Hi TB303,

    Please check if the win10 1607 upgrade file is downloaded successfully on WSUS server, please check the WSUS overview:

    Also check WSUS event log in event viewer, check if there are event 364.

    Hello,

    My screenshot looks like yours and says zero updates needed.

    The only event log is from the 29th where the server ran out of space which I increased then:

    Content file download failed.
    Reason: There is not enough space on the disk.

    This is used to check if KB3159706 is installed and correctly and then the upgrade file is encrypted.

    You may install SQL server management studio to check.

    When through the above and all looks ok, but the test laptop still won't get the 1607 update.

    I've approved it too, but doesn't show:

    Hello Anne, just wondered if you had anymore thoughts on this?

    Shall I try a manual install on a PC with build 1511 to see if it can get to 1607?

    Should http://localhost:5830/ClientWebService/client.asmx work on the WSUS as it doesn't?

    or 

    https://localhost/5831/ClientWebService/client.aasmx

    Can I easily reinstall WSUS and keep all my settings?

    Manually updating will work.

    I am also having this issue with build 1607 and 1703.

    MS needs to really get it together.
