SCSM 2012 - SelfService Portal migration question RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a DEV SCSM 2012 Selfservice portal deployed on SharePoint foundation 2010.

    https://ServerName:444/smportal

I have made changed to the root site, https://servername:444, added some pages, theme, and branding.

I want to know if it is possible to migrate those changes to my production instance, using standard SharePoint tools like Export-SPWeb, or Backup-SPSite, and then import the site to the production instance.

My concern is that doing this will "break" the connection to service manager?

Can anyone confirm if this is possible, or should I just make my changes in Production manually?

Answers

  • This is possible. The only one requirement (regarding to SCSM) - install SCSM Web Parts on your production server.
