UAG DirectAccess NLB in different locations RRS feed

  • Question

  • According to this link: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee191502.aspx the example shows the two array servers on the same subnet. We currently have UAG DirectAccess setup on one server, but are wanting to setup an array and using the intergrated NLB. Both servers are in the same domain just located in different geological locations. Can this still be achieved?

  • Yes, but you will need to create stretched VLANs between the two locations. This may not be possible if UAG is connected directly to the Internet at both locations and hence you have two different public IP address ranges at both locations.

Be aware that this scenario is not currently supported by MS, but it does technically work if you meet the NLB requirements...
