Direct Access and SCCM 2012 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Does the heartbeat discovery need to run more frequently to discover clients which switch to using Direct Access? We are always roaming from the Office to customer sites and use Direct Access once onsite. I want the DA machines to be on a "slow" connection so we dont push out large packages to machines on DA. What will cause SCCM to identify the machine as coming in via Direct Access and assigning it to the IPv6 boundary once we have logged in and the DA connection is established?

  • The ConfigMgr client determines that automatically - it's independent of heartbeat. Client roams to whatever network (network change is detected) -> client receives deployment -> client is not within any boundaries (groups) and therefore is considered to be within slow boundaries.
