Email Alias and office 365 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Good Day

i have been looking around but i haven't found a clear answer. My question is this i have exchange set up in domain A and office 365 in domain B.

Both are in separate forests. Can i set up an alias  in office 365 for my exchange account in domain A, so that i can receive emails from that account in domain B?

    Thanking in advance

  • I would suggest setting up "external contacts" in Domain A that will deliver mail to Domain B.

  • Hello,

You can only setup an alias (or a mailbox) in Office 365 if the domain has been "verified" in Office 365, otherwise there would be no DNS records to point the emails to your office 365 domain

As Sam D Brown has explained, you would need to create external contacts for each mailbox on Domain A forwarding emails to Domain B.

Is Domain A on an on-premise server ? By the sounds of it, you don't want to run Exchange on the  on-premise server ?

    Thank you
