Cant complete windows update RRS feed

  • Question

  • I get up on windows update site and as it goes to find any updates I get a red x error that says it cant go any further

    It gives me error 0x80190193

then I  get EVENT 8 posted in the application  event log  source = crypt32

and I alod see most of the events logged in this log all have the same  "either the component that raises this event is not installled on your local computer or the installatio is corrupted"

even other statements that have different event ID's and sources   ..but this crypt32 on if you

look under the details tab....  you see this

    http://www.download.windowsupdate.com/msdownload/update/v3/static/trustedr/en/authrootseq.txt

This network connection does not exist.

    HELP ? thanks

  • What worked for me was to go to add remove programs\windows components and then uncheck update root certificates.

This error can also be a result of SEP instalation.

  • Tried this ..still in the same situation.....

When  igetto the update page and it goes off looking fer updates  this is where  i get the

"The website is having problems  and cannot  display the  page yo uare trying to view   "  red X error  0x80190193

I notice the OPTIONS on the update page are all non active.. (review you history   change settings  restore hidden  updates)
