Mouse Status RRS feed

  • Question

  • Windows 7 RC - My mouse status remains in a Busy mode, but functions normally as a pointer. To correct, I need to change status to pointer, then functions as pointer until either taken out of hibernation or new boot sequence. Is this a bug?

  • Hi,

Thanks for posting in Microsoft TechNet Forum.

I suspect that you didn't save the scheme after changing pointers. Thus while you log off and log back on Windows, Windows changes back to the default scheme on your computer. As we know, if you enable the item "Allow themes to change mouse pointers", then the pointers will be set to the default ones. I recommend that you check this item follow the below steps.

    1.   Click on Start menu, select Control Panel.

    2.   Switch to All Control Panel Items view, click on the Mouse link.

    3.   Switch to Pointers tab, in the bottom,  uncheck the checkbox to disable "Allow themes to change mouse pointers" under the setting option.

    4.   Change pointer status to act normally.

    5.   Click Apply and restart to see if the issue persists.

If the issue persists, I suggest you creating a new profile to see if the issue occurs.

    Hope this helps. Thanks.
