WSUS at a SCCM 2012 site that only has a DP? RRS feed

    Our parent company has an SCCM 2012 CAS and Primary with WSUS, SUP, SCEP etc.

    We are only a Distribution Point.

    My question is: Can we have WSUS on our own for now?

    If we are first just implementing SCCM to get Endpoint Protection can we leave our local domain Group Policy point us to our existing WSUS and move up to integrated WSUS when time allows?

    Hi,

    Yes you can, simply disable the Software Update Agent in the Client Settings until you are ready to make the switch.

    If the software updates are disabled in the Client Settings will Endpoint Protection update?

    Hi,

    Yes, you configure how Endpoint Protection definitions are deployed in the Endpoint Protection Antimalware policy, there you can select WSUS.
