Services repeatedly reset to "disabled" in 2008 R2 RRS feed

    I'm setting up some 2008 R2 machines and so have occasion to frequent "Disk Management".  It's repeatedly stopped and set to "disabled", despite my setting it to automatic, automatic (delayed start), or manual.  Same is true with the "DFS namespace"service.  I assume this is by design but I haven't been able how to override this at least while I'm still configuring stuff.  Any suggestions?

    Hi,

    You can start auditing and monitor the corresponding service key and service subkeys under services:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services

    Especially the “Start” and “Type” keys. You may see if some process is changing the values and disabling the service.
