Project Server 2013 copy values from one custom field to another RRS feed

  • Hi All,

    We have Project Server 2013 we have two enterprise custom fields, need to copy the values from one filed to another for each project. What the best and easiest method to do that.

    Could you give a bit more details around the requirement? Why do you need to duplicate the data? Wont both custom fields have the same value?

    Thanks for your response. We have a custom filed Project Manager with values. We need to update the value into Owner field.

  • One way to do this could be to use the workflow. You can just have two stages, and then copy the field when the project moves from stage 1 to stage 2.

  • Easiest way is use a Excel. Open a source lookup table in Excel, then Copy + Paste the values into the new one. You can train in test lookup table to ensure in correct actions, then delete it.
