WSUS administration console constantly crashing (Server 2012) RRS feed

    Hi guys,

    We have WSUS installed and configured on Windows Server 2012, and we have problems with the admin console constantly crashing - mainly when running reports or filtering updates.

    There are numerous logs within event viewer for this, but I cannot find online any solution:

    Event ID: 7053, Source: Windows Server Update Server

    The WSUS administration console has encountered an unexpected error. This may be a transient error; try restarting the administration console. If this error persists,

    Try removing the persisted preferences for the console by deleting the wsus file under %appdata%\Microsoft\MMC\.

    System.Collections.Generic.KeyNotFoundException -- The given key was not present in the dictionary.

    ----------------

    I have attempted deleting the wsus file under %appdata%\Microsoft\MMC\, but the problem still remains.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    this is a tough one. it could be resource exhaustion such as memory, cpu or disk space swap or if you have an overwhelming amount of updates or endpoints in your enviornment and have not been running the cleaup wizard frequently or re-indexing the wsus database

    Try to logon with another Admin, is the Console crashing too?
