Contact group sync to exchange RRS feed

  • Does anyone have any information on when contact groups (Contact lists) created in Outlook 2016 on Mac will finally sync to Exchange to be viewable online and vice versa?

  • Hi Corey Riley,

    Normally, it will sync to the server immediately when you create a new contact group.

    Is that your contact group didn’t sync to the Exchange server? Does this only occur to contact group?

    In this case, please try removing and re-adding your exchange account to Outlook for mac to see the results.

    If issue persists, we can also create a new profile in case there was a corrupted personal setting.

  • It looks like this has been a known issue with Outlook for Mac.  In the Outlook Mac client, when you create a contact group it automatically creates it in the "on my computer" section which doesn't sync to Exchange Online.

    Thank you for your update.

    I found one article here. It mentioned that if you have a Microsoft Exchange account, contact lists are not saved to the Exchange server. Any lists that you create are saved on your computer and are available only in Outlook for Mac.
