Public folder being removed as Outlook Address Book. RRS feed

  • Question

  • On Exchange 2013...we have single public folder mailbox with just a handful of public folders. One of them is a contact list. Recently we've started seeing this list disappear as an address book in people's Outlook. Outlook version is 2010. When we check the properties of the public folder on the Outlook Address Book tab the checkbox "Show this folder as an email Address Book" is unchecked. Checking the box resolves the problem but within a week or two it will happen again.

This just started happening in the last couple of months, but is getting frustrating for the people who rely on this list appearing as an address list in Outlook.

Anyone know what could be causing this box to uncheck itself and how to resolve this?

    Thanks

    Kenny

  • Are the users futzing with their public folder favorites, maybe?

  • No, they aren't. They have the folder as a favorite but aren't changing anything. That box just keeps unchecking itself. Seems like maybe a patch may have caused it.
