Outlook 2016 Windows Security prompt missing password field

    Question

  • I am trying to setup my Outlook 2016 profile on my Windows 7 system. When I first open outlook it tries to connect to office 365. A windows security prompt appears with my username but there is no field to enter my password and I cannot hit "OK"

  • Winnie, I forgot to respond back to this post. I was able to resolve the issue by editing the Office 365 mailbox settings for my user account.

In the Email address settings I had to change the Set as Remote Routing Address.

    It was set to smtp:myuser@mydomain.com

When it needed to be smtp:myuser@mydomain.mail.onmicrosoft.com

  • Hi Aaron,

Could you please share a screenshot about your issue?

Generally, when setup Exchange account in Outlook 2016, we can use the Auto Account Setup and directly click Next to finish the setting:
