Failed to create the client evaluation task RRS feed

  • Question

  • A handful of SCCM 2012 clients are failing the Client Health check, details just says internal error. Upon further inspection, I have found the scheduled task 'Configuration Manager Health Evaluation' is missing. And I see the message 'Failed to create the client evaluation task' in the ccmevaltask.log. I have checked the App, Security, and System logs on these clients but I am not find any relivant errors. I have approximately 300 clients in my environment, but only about 5-6 are having this issue.

    Any thoughts?

  • I wasn't able to create a task got the following error message "Transaction support within the specified resource manager is not started or was shut down due to an error."

To fix I did the following:

    1) Control Panel> Folder Options

    2) Select Show Hidden files, folders, and drives and uncheck Hide Protected Operation System Files

    3) Go to %windir%\system32\config\TxR, delete all files in this folder

    4) From command prompt, run 'fsutil resource setautoreset true C:\'

    5) reboot

After this I was able to create a schedule task. The issue also seems to effect Windows Search. The article below is where I found the resolution.

  • Is that the exact, full and complete line in ccmevaltask.log? If not, can you please post the whole thing (or relevant snippet)?

  • Here ya go. Also, if I go to the client that is failing the Client Health check and run the ccmeval.exe manually, the client shows healthy. So the issue only seems to be the schedule task not being added.

  • Yes I have reviewed that thread. We do not have any group policies blocking schedule task. As well, as I mentioned above, only a small number of clients are having this issue. All of our clients are being affected by the same group policies, and most are not have this issue.

  • It could also be a local policy.

Can you manually create scheduled tasks? Can you create scheduled tasks with the local System account?

  • This also fixed so the SCCM Agent is able to add the schedule task for the Configuration Manager Health Evaluation.
