Can't connect to Configuration Manager Service manager

So after a failed upgrade to R2, I've had to restore the database as the R2 upgrade corrupted the DB.

I am now working though the minefield of component errors. However I can't connect to the configuration manager service manager, I get this error: Error communicating with the specified Configuration Manager Site Server

So I have done a site reset and I still have the same issue.

I have tried several accounts, all with full permissions on the site server and in configuration manager. I'm stumped now.

Anyone experienced this before and found a solution?

Joyce, Nothing that stands out in the ConfigMgrSetup.log and the windows event log does not record anything for the attempt to connect.

Old thred but for referencies ( to someone suffering same issue)

1- check SPNs - http://blogs.technet.com/b/configurationmgr/archive/2010/10/26/troubleshooting-duplicate-or-missing-spns-for-a-configmgr-2007-sql-database.aspx ( about sccm 2007, but relevant also )

2- check dll/OCX registrations, this is get biased ( unregister, register) You can find list of dlls from ConfigMgrSetup.log ( on C:\)

.net Assemblies wit regasm and ddls/ocx regsvr32.
