  • Hi,

You will never see what you entered in Title in the dropdown list.

You can only see there what you have entered as RENAME in the Custom Fields form.

  • Hi,

That indeed s a different story. Is this the same file? On the same computer?

Are you somehow connected to Project Server?

  • I see you have Project 2007. Do you have SP3? If not, don't use Project 2007 again until you have installed it.

  • Hi,

OK, let's dig a bit deeper.

Open this file and close all others.

    Go to Tools, Organizer, Fields

You now have two windows, one showing "Global.mpt", obne representing the file.

Are the testo fields visible in one of the two windows?

If no: is this a different computer you are working on?

  • danieleb75,

You will see this in the column definition ONLY if the field was customized by renaming. In Project 2007, if you go to Tools/Customize/Fields you will see that Text20 through Text24 have been renamed.

Jan's method will tell you the same thing.

Note: giving a column a title is not the same as renaming a field. If a column heading is given a title, that name will appear in the column header even though the field representing that column may have been renamed. For example, in your first file the title of the column representing Text22 is METRICOLA and the Text22 field itself has NOT been renamed. In the second file the title of the column representing Text22 is COSTO GIORNALER and the Text22 field itself HAS been renamed as CDC RISORSA.

    Hope this helps

    John

  • Titles also only retain their content in that table in that position. You can add the same field in a different position in the table and its default name will appear. You can drag and drop a field and retain the title, but you cannot delete it and add it elsewhere without adding the title. Bottom line avoid titles, rename instead.
