How to force user to use shared view of a webpart page. RRS feed

    We have a webpart page (Default.aspx). One user personalized it by adding few more webparts but it starts giving exception (A Web Part with this ID has already been added to this page) and page getting crashed for him. Even adding ?contents=1 to url also not worked for that user.

    Can we some how force user to use Shared view of that page because that is working fine?

    Hi Kiran,

    Could the other users see those webparts when you published and approved this webpart page ?

    If you want to display that page as shared view, you can create another link (e.g. in quick launch) pointing to that particular webpart page with adding Shared view querystring like this,

    http://server/site/pages/default.aspx?PageView=Shared&ToolPaneView=2

    Edit the page and see if there is webparts that are hidden, that may have same ID. Its better to clean it rather providing a shared view thereby reducing any complex situtation later.

    Thanks for your response.

    Page is crashed for user because of this exception, so there is no edit option available. This is a personalized page for that user, so others cannot view this with their logins, So I thought it is better to go to shared view for that user as it is working.
