Determine when a program/application was last opened? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Windows tracks many dates for files and folders.  Does Windows track the last time a program was accessed?  or the number of times a program was accessed?  We would like to know when a program was last executed as well as how many times it was executed, if possible. Is that info in the file system, registry or WMI?

  • you could enable the group policy Audit process tracking (this is not enabled per default)
the events will then be logged in the security log.
