DPM2010 doesn't recognize tape.. RRS feed

  • Question

  • DPM2010 waiting for tape - while correct tape is in machine Win08R2
DPM was backing up data from high prio job to tape named high prio..

While it was backing up the high prio data it stopped and send a warning dat job is waiting for tape while the right tape for this job is in...!?
Library also tells me that the correct tape is in (high prio)

When i click on continue job it still comes back with the warning..

What do i need to do to get this fixed!?:S

  • Hi

Are you using a tapelibrary or standalone tape drive?

  • If you got a tapelibrary with X numbers of slots DPM will manage the rotation of the media. Do you have different long term recovery goals configured?

  • Hi WhoKnowsIt,

To better understand your library details, please run this powershell command and paste the details into this post.

    get-dpmlibrary DPM_SERVER_NAME  |format-list

Also, please run the following commands on the DPM server.

    Open an administrative command prompt

    CD  C:\Program file\Microsoft DPM\DPM\Temp
    find /I "0x8007045D" MSDPM*.Errlog >c:\temp\0x8007045D.TXT
    notepad c:\temp\0x8007045D.txt

Let me know if there are any entries in the 0x8007045D.txt file.
