In Microsoft Project, the View consists of a Table, a Filter, a Group, and a Screen.  If the PM who created the View is trying to share it with another PM, he/she must make sure he copies the Table, Filter, and Group into the project he/she is giving to the other PM.  I suspect the Table is missing in the project file.  Hope this helps.

  • Hi,

Did you check what categories are applied. Make sure the user is in the category which is/are applied.

    Thanks, Kashif

  • Thank you very much for the replies. Where can i find if the table is missing? The other pm has the required level of access to view the projects read - only .

From your description of symptoms, here??s what I think happened:
    1. The first PM created a custom View with a custom Table in one particular enterprise project.
    2. The View displayed just fine.
    3. The first PM opened someone else??s project and used the Organizer (File > Organizer) to copy only the View (without the Table) into the other project.  He should have copied BOTH the View and the Table, by the way.
Can you talk with the PM who created the custom View and Table to confirm that is what happened?  If this is not what he/she did, then he/she needs to give you the exact steps he/she did in the project that is showing an error dialog for the second PM.  Let us know what you find and we will try to help.

Categories have absolutely no effect on what Views and Tables a PM can see in an enterprise project in Microsoft Project 2010.  But thanks for trying to help this user!
