RCDC, Negating Value in Binding RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi, I've got an RCDC where I want to be able to negate a binding and put it in the read-only tag of an attribute so it's read-only when the other attribute is set to True. So there is

    A Boolean value 'IsStudent'

    A Boolean value 'IsAdditional'

When 'IsStudent' is true, I want 'IsAdditional' to be read only.

When 'IsStudent' is false, I want 'IsAdditional' to be read/write.

It doesn't look like there's a place to add logic in the RCDC, I can only bind to an attribute. Is there a way around this?

  • The trick is to have two controls for IsAdditional -- one that is read only and another is read/write. Then tie the enabled and visible properties of the read only control to IsStudent. You will also need an attribute called IsNotStudent and have an MPR and workflow that will always set this to the opposite of IsStudent. Then you can tie the second control's enabled and visible properties to this IsNotStudent attribute.
