  • Did you try to insert the OS install CD and select repair the Opearing System?

  • Windows Movie Maker is included in SP2 but not SP3. If the system did not come with SP2 installed, we can uninstall/reinstall SP2 to repair it. (Otherwise, SP2 cannot be uninstalled. We can only perform repair install of Windows XP.)

Also we can try perform system restore to see if it can fix the problem.

  • Thank you Niko - I tried re-installing SP2 but it could not be done because SP3 was already installed

-tried system restore at many points but nothing changed -

    - tried with original XP disk to do repair and that also had no effect, so... I am still without Windows movie-maker, is it possible I have conflicting software?

Thanks again for trying to help

  • Thank you for your advice, I did this and it seemed to be making some adjustments to the o/s but unfortunately it did not help Windows Movie Maker

Thank you for your time and help
