How to push down a group policy to block the use of USB external devices?

    Question

  • Dear Server Expert,

We are using Windows Server 2008 R2 for our AD server and we would like to push down the group policy to all users to actually prevent the use of any USB external devices such as thumbdrive or external hdd.

Please advise on how to do this.

    Many thanks

    Regards,

  • Hi Hendri,

The same policy setting is also located under the same path in the user configuration:

You could configure this setting there, by doing that, the policy will be applied according which user log in.

    Best regards,

    Wendy

    Hi Nedim,

    Thanks for your link advise.

However, rather than blocking the computer name, could we block by user login?

    Thanks

    Hendri
