How to fix "Error 1: Only System Administrator can specify WITH LOG option for RAISERROR command." at the time of configuration of PPS 2007 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

I have three servers one for SharePoint (Server 1), one for database (Server 2) and one for PPS (Server 3). I have successfully installed and configured Sharepoint 2007. Sharepoint & PPS Configuration database need to be created on  Server2. I am doing all the installation using a service account. That service account has admin acces to server 1 & Server 3. That service account has give "dbcreator" and "securityadmin" role on database server i.e Server 2.
When I am trying to configure PPS 2007 on Server3 it throw error in the last step "Error 1:  Only System Administrator can specify WITH LOG option for RAISERROR command." at the time of configuration of PPS 2007"
I am using SQL server 2008 as database server. Applied all the patch related to PPS 2007
Anybody have idea about this error. why this error is thrown.

    Kind regards,
    Pushkar Bhushan

  • Hello Pushkar,

The service account that you are using, is this the same one that will be running your Application Pool users?  Are you sure that you are spelling the SQL Server name correctly?  I have also seen this error if the wrong SQL Server instance is selected during the configuration.

When exactly are you getting the error?  Is it right after putting in the SQL Server name?

What happens if you elevate permissions for this user and Application Pool owner?  You can down grade permissions after it is configured successfully.

    Thanks

  • Hello Pushkar,

To use SQL Server 2008 with PerformancePoint Server, you must first download and install the Cumulative update package 9 for SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 2 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/953752). In addition, you must install the Feature Pack for SQL Server 2005 (http://go.microsoft.com/?linkid=9643026). Install the cumulative update and the feature pack on the server where PerformancePoint Server 2007 SP2 will be installed.

Even though you are using SQL 2008, the patches are still required.  Please load the patches and see if the same error appears when configuring PPS.

    Thanks

  • Hi Heidi,

It get resolved. I have granted sysadmin access to service account on database server.
    after that PPS get configured.

  • Hi Pushkar,

I am facing the same issue, please advise that the sysadmin access you gave on the DB server has to be permanent or it is just needed while you are trying to configure the PPS.

    Thanks,

    Ashish
