    Hi!  I recently had to reinstall my operating system due to a virus.  I have the Windows XP media edition. (2005)  Now that it is reinstalled I have had to reinstall many drivers, etc....At the microsoft update site it repeatedly tells me that I need the .NET framwork 1.1  (I had started with 3.0 and worked my way down LOL)  However after several attempts I can not get it to install.  It simply says download failed.  What do I need to do next??

    If you can’t download NET Framework 1.1 through Windows Update, you may consider installing it manually. You can download it from the following website.

    By the way, as we mainly focus on the Server Manager question about Windows Server 2008 system and here is not the best support resource for Windows XP, it is recommend you to get further support in the corresponding community so that you can get the most qualified pool of respondents.
