Skype for Business has both a cloud-version and an on-premise version.
The cloud version is called Skype for Business, the on-premise version is called Skype for Business Server. The on-premise version has a really simple edition-model:
Standard and Enterprise where standard lacks the following functionality:
- Desktop, application and whiteboard sharing
- Group audio and HD video calling (3 or more)
- Create and manage persistent chat room
- Conference Attendee Experience (things like joining a scheduled meeting)
- Presenter Experience (sharing powerpoint presentations)
- It has a maximum of 100 users in a conference instead of 250All the cloud versions have the above functionality.
It is a lot clearer than the plan overview on the Office 365 website.
The difference is mostly about the CloudPBX functionality and the possibility to dial into a meeting.
For more information about these plans, look at: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/skype-for-business-online-service-description.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396- Proposed as answer by AntoonBouw Friday, August 18, 2017 6:20 AM
