  • if I do a BMR backup of a host Hyper-V machine. Will it include the VHD's.?

    is it best practice to do a BMR backup of a hyper-v host?

  • Hi,

    BMR backup will not include .VHD's unless they are located on the C: drive.

    If you want to see the volumes included in BMR backup run the following from an administrative command prompt.

       wbadmin.exe start backup -allcritical -quiet -backuptarget:\\server\share

    It all depends on how fast you need to recovery in case of total failure.  BMR will be quicker to get the server up and running with original configuration and patches.
