Automatic Client Upgrade and Client Hotfixes RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

    I have SCCM 2012 with SP1
all my Windows 7 workstations have the Sccm 2012 rtm client installed
I enabled the "automatic client upgrade" in Hierarchy Settings.

so far so good, all windows 7 workstations got the sp1 client installed.

yesterday i installed SCCM CU1 for SP1 which also included a client hotfix.

will the automatic client update also install the client hotfix ?

  • No,

Automatic client upgrade will not upgrade to CU1 jsut SP1. You can use SCUP however you will see a cab file in the hotfix folder that you can import into SCUP that works well or just use a package / program.

  • Only major version will be upgraded then (= service packs, not CUs or hotfixes)
