How to start monitoring of Exchange 2007 Servers?

Question
-
Hi Guys,
I am having issues with Our Exchange 2007 servers have the state "not monitored" in Discovered Inventor. I followed the instructions & the suggestions provided by Graham "http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/operationsmanagermgmtpacks/thread/154e41a9-70b3-43d5-b0bb-45d724c00b3b".
Interestingly what I am seeing here is Just only the Exchange 2007 Server Role Group Discovery when I did a search for "Exchange 2007 Server Role" . No other list of Exchange 2007 Server Role Discoveries appears in that list.
When I review my MP installed list I noticed Microsoft.Exchange.2007 (Converted) 6.0.6461.0 in that list. Can someone help me on this to get rid of this issue?
Thanks much in advance!!!

Hi,
Additionally, regarding how to configure Exchange 2007 management pack to monitor Exchange servers, I would like to share the following with you for your reference:
Exchange 2007 Management Packs do not automatically monitor Exchange servers
Hope this helps.
Thanks.

Did you enable the role discoveries? Those are disabled by default. The only discovery that is enabled it the seeds discovery and will indeed show "not monitored".

Thanks for showing you interest, Rob.
Do you mean Exchange 2007 Discovery Helper discovery? If yest then it is enabled and customized the time interval to 15 mins both the conditions didnt worked for me.

Additional Information to the above....
Initially when I tried to enable the Role it got grayed out so I override it and saved it in my custom Mp. I enabled the below roles since I am using SCC in out environment.
Exchange 2007 CCR Clustered Mailbox Server Role Discovery
Discovers CCR and SCC clustered Mailbox serversExchange 2007 CAS Role Discovery
Discovers Client Access server roles
Exchange 2007 Hub Transport Role Discovery
Discovers Hub Transport server rolesThanks a lot!!!

So it works now? You should be able to see the servers in the exchange views when you enabled those discoveries. But it's normal to see the "not monitored" on the "discovery helper object" discovered servers (basically it means there are no monitors related to the discovery helper).
If the servers don't show up, you might want to take a look in the opsmgr log of those agents. Some clues should be there why the discoveries are failing.

I think my Exchange 2007 (Converted) MP cud be the reason for not allowing the things to get work!!!
Any ideas if I remove it from the SCOM and install only the Exchange 2007.

Delete that one. I'm not sure, but you might want to start over again. If i remember correctly you had to delete the old mp in order to set up the native SCOM exchange 2007 mp. Not sure if they can run side by side or what the consequences are when you have both running.

Is there any ways I can revert back to my old configurations, if it fails?

You can export your overrides and reimport them again when you need to revert back to the old situation.
