Hi,
SCE doesn't have any "role" that can be installed on the branch. But depending on how big brach you have, you can still use SCE.
*If the branch is small, yoy don't need to do anything since the clients use BITS that are very network friendly. You can aslo configure some BITS part by using GPO.
*If you use Vista on your clients, you have a new function in BITS (Peer caching ) thats you can configure so one or more Vista client download the updates etc and then the other clients download from this client/cliewns
*If you are using Microsft ISA, you can configure it to cash the BITS trafic so the clients download from the ISA instaed of the SCE server.
