  • Hi, it maybe a permission issue of your task directory (%windir%\Tasks).

Take this thread as a reference, it contains the same error as you:

    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/configmgrsetup/thread/248b8fca-c6f3-47a4-a76c-c45125296692/

In the thread Bechir Gharbi gave some steps to fix it:

        - Remove the MP as a site system role (if it is still installed), wait for it to finish

        - Remove IIS completely

        - Reboot the server

        - Stop the Task Scheduler Service

        - Rename the %windir%\Tasks folder to something else (or move it)

        - Start the Task Scheduler Service (this will recreate the %windir%\Tasks folder)

        - Reinstall IIS, BITS, WebDAV

        - Insure BITS and WebDAV are enabled

        - Reinstall the MP

    Thanks

  • 1603 is a genric error code meaning you need to dig through the log for further info.

Here's a good guide on doing this: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/astebner/archive/2005/08/01/446328.aspx.

  • Please you cannot do what you suggeted here. You can't rename the Task folder in Winsows Server 2008 R" or stop the Tas Scheduler services. So what is the way round this.

    Thanks

  • In my case - the MPMSI.log was reporting issues at the creating CCM_Incoming directory. Once the directory was deleted and Antivirus(McAfee or SEP) was disabled. The Management Point Installation went through successfully.
