Missing SQL Agent RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi, I'm hoping to use scom 2007 r2 to minotor sql agent jobs on a number of servers.  I have read here that the SQL Agent is disabled by default in the Object Discoveries, but when I do a search there the SQL agent doesn't exist.  I have installed the SQL mp and I get plenty of objects for sql 2008, 2005 and 2000, but nothing to do with the SQL agents.  Where can I get these objects from?

    Cheers,

    Ed

  • Hi

You need to go to authoring, management pack objects and in the top right corner, you can scope the classes to view.

Make sure you choose the option to view ALL targets - the default is just to view common targets (and the discoveries you require won't show by default).

    Look for:

    - sql 2008 agent job

    - sql server 2005 agent job

    - sql 2000 agent job

    Cheers
